Naughtie Appointed Stirling Chancellor

21/12/2007
Scottish-born broadcaster and journalist, James Naughtie, has been appointed the next chancellor of Stirling University; he will succeed current incumbent, actress Dame Diana Rigg, when her term of office ends in the summer.

Naughtie, one of the main presenters of Radio 4’s Today programme, began his career with the Press and Journal newspaper, as a graduate trainee, and then moved to The Scotsman’s political team in Westminster before joining the BBC.

Spike awaits with interest how the news will be greeted by the Scottish Daily Mail’s Ephraim Hardcastle column which is a regular critic of ‘all things Naughtie’.
