The Scottish Government editor of The Scotsman has been appointed the newspaper’s business editor.

Peter MacMahon begins his new job the week after next. He was a spin doctor for ex-First Minister, Henry McLeish. He used to be The Scotsman’s political editor, and also the Daily Mirror’s.

He succeeds Nick Bevens.
