stv has appointed the group account director at one of Scotland’s top agencies to bolster its advertising sales department.

John MacDougall has been taken on, from The Union, in the role of client services director.

Says stv: “[His] remit will be to manage stv’s relationships with its advertisers and their creative agencies and to highlight the wide range of exciting commercial opportunities available to brands on both stv and stv.tv.
 
Says David Connolly, commercial director of stv: “One of the key objectives for stv in 2008 is to strengthen our relationships with our advertisers. John brings a new dimension to our current team with the breadth of his account management experience and long-term involvement in the creative process.”
 
MacDougall has also worked for The Leith Agency and Citigate Smarts. He will be based at stv’s Edinburgh office.
