The theatre and arts critic of the Press and Journal newspaper has picked up an award, in recognition of his support of a local orchestra.

In the capacity of managing director of ‘the agency’, a creative design and advertising firm in Aberdeen, Roddy Phillips was at the Scottish Parliament last week to collect a Scottish Executive New Arts  Sponsorship award, with the Aberdeen International Youth Festival, for supporting Grampian Youth Orchestra.

He was accompanied by fellow director, Mike Robson.

Phillips has been writing for the P&J for 20 years. He’s had a column on Thursdays for twelve of them.
