Witch-hunt on at Ayrshire Court?
20/03/2008
A witch-hunt is believed to be underway in the Scottish Court Service after an Ayrshire news agency, HotWire, revealed the diva-like whims of a High Court judge.
Reporter, Campbell Thomas' story in the Scottish Mail on Sunday told how Lady Clark demanded, for her chambers, a full-length mirror, a vase of flowers and a fruit bowl before she would dispense justice at the High Court in Kilmarnock.
A court official and policeman were sent scurrying to a nearby shopping centre, where ‘Argos saved the day’.
A Justiciary spokeswoman later admitted to Thomas the former Advocate General and Labour MP had made the ‘rock star dressing room-style’ requests.
Now, the Court Service knives are said out in a bid to uncover the mole who leaked the story.
"My lips are sealed," Thomas said yesterday.
