Two More Appointments at Gaelic Media Service

02/04/2008
One of the partners in a proposed new digital TV channel, dedicated to Gaelic language programming, has bolstered its senior management team.

The Gaelic Media Service has taken on Neil Graham as its head of operations and Murdo Morrison as its marketing and audience communications executive. The GMS is publicly-funded to promote Gaelic media and, in partnership with BBC Scotland, is aiming to launch the new TV station within the next few months.

Graham has been GMS’s finance manager since 1992. As head of operations, he will take responsibility for the management and application of GMS’ resources, in particular GMS’ finance systems, infrastructure and facilities and broadcasting studios in Stornoway and in the Isle of Skye.

Morrison joins GMS from An Comann Gaidhealach, where he has been the marketing officer for the Royal National Mòd for the past eight years. He will be working with the content team, handling promotions, market research and communication with viewers.
