Picture This

12/05/2008
Odd picture, perhaps, gracing Friday’s edition of the Evening Times? Accompanying the headline, ‘Train Ger Danger’, was a photograph of fans disembarking from a Glasgow train.

The story was about thousands of Rangers fans possibly being turned away at Glasgow Central rail station, ahead of their club’s UEFA Cup final appearance in Manchester on Wednesday.

The pic had no caption. Nor was there any mention of who they might be in the body of the story.

For they weren’t Rangers fans, despite their blue scarves. But fans of Spanish club, Espanyol, who were in Glasgow last year...for the UEFA Cup final, hosted at Hampden Park.
