Charity to Benefit from Peek at the Stars

16/05/2008
A charity set up by a former astrologer on the Sunday Mail has captured the services of the newspaper’s current stargazer to help it celebrate its 21st birthday.

Next month, Frank Pilkington presents his specially created one-man show on behalf of the Darlinda Charity for Renal Research at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow.

The charity was set up in 1987 by the late Rita Madhok, who, as Darlinda, wrote the horoscope column in the Sunday Mail for 16 years until her death in 1995.

The charity has raised more than £700,000 for research and patient care projects at the hospital where Rita underwent treatment for her own kidney illnesses.

Frank’s show is on the sixth of next month, at the Hilton Grosvenor Hotel, in Glasgow.

Tickets cost £25 - including wine and buffet - and are available by contacting charity secretary, Maggie Quinn, on 077 8882 6442.
