A co-presenter on stv’s new, news magazine show has been appointed ITN’s Scotland correspondent.

Debi Edward - who had previously worked on stv’s news flagship, Scotland Today, before joining ‘the five thirty show’, with Stephen Jardine - will take up her new post immediately.

Replacing her on ‘the five thirty show’ will be Rachel McTavish.

Says stv owners, SMG: “[Edward’s] move will lead to an enhanced level of Scottish coverage on ITV news programmes.”

Said Edward: “Following in the footsteps of Martin Geissler, who is a fantastic journalist, and reporting for both stv and across UK on the ITV Network, is a real privilege.”

McTavish - who has been working as a presenter on Scotland Today and occasionally on ‘the five thirty show’ for the past six months - previously worked as a presenter on ITV London’s regional news programme, the national ITV Morning News and was a regular presenter on the ITV News Channel.
