Last week’s annual dinner of the Scottish Political Journalists Association has turned into a hunt for a malt whisky pilferer.

It follows the evening ending with a whisky tasting hosting by Chivas Brothers. However, one hack was so taken by the drams being showcased, he helped himself to a wee night cap: a whole case of single malts.

The hosts know who the person was and are expecting the case to be returned - unopened - whereupon no more will be said about it. Otherwise.....
