Filmmaking Funds Dry Up
04/07/2008
A major funds source for Scottish filmmakers has been temporarily ‘put on ice’, since yesterday.
Scottish Screen’s Content Production Fund - which aims to provide the necessary support to production companies to finance the physical production of their projects - is no longer considering applications, until after the 25th of next month.
The fund offers a maximum £500,000 support.
Scottish Screen says the decision has been prompted by “the high demand for funds and commitments made to date”.
Other investment funds are still available, however.
Adds Scottish Screen: “Any applications which are received in the period between Thursday July 3 and Monday August 25 will be returned to the applicant without being reviewed.
Scottish Screen invests around six million pounds in the development and promotion of Scotland's screen industries each year.
