The BBC is to launch a 52 weeks-a-year radio show devoted to reporting, analysing and commenting on the media.

The Media Show, to be presented by journalist and former TV executive, Steve Hewlett, begins from October 1 and will be broadcast on a Wednesdays, at 1.30pm. It will also be available as a podcast.

The programme follows on from BBC Radio 4's former media show, The Message, which ran from 1998 until May this year, as three series per year.

Meanwhile, as part of a planned revamp, allmediascotland.com is in negotiation with a leading Scottish university to host its own, ‘online radio show’, devoted to what’s going on in the Scottish media.
