Twelve-month Notice to be Worked by McGhee?

21/07/2008
The Sunday Herald should know - being a sister title of The Herald. And yesterday, it reported that Herald editor, Charles McGhee - whose resignation was announced on Friday, and reported here - is expected to be around for another 12 months at the paper, as he works out his period of notice.

P.S. That’ll be Charles McGhee - identified in the Drum magazine media and marketing as ‘editor of the Evening Times’. Which he once was. The Drum had him down among ‘Scotland Media and Marketing Power 100’, chosen from almost 400 nominations sent to the mag.

Quite how ‘the high profile panel of judges’ didn’t know McGhee has been Herald editor for over two years......?

Or then again, since the ‘Power 100’ also came out on Friday, maybe it has the scoop of where McGhee is off to.

Comment: I had to laugh at the piece in the Sunday Herald yesterday criticising the Drum for getting details wrong in the Power 100 - Terry Murden as well as Charles McGhee (for indeed there were some serious howlers in there). But what was even funnier was the piece above in the same column, where they had got it wrong themselves - the boss of marketing at the Scottish Government is Roger Williams, not Robert! JC
