Advertisers Urged to Show Support for Awards
28/08/2008
A rallying cry has gone out to Scottish advertising agencies to help save an entry in the internet encyclopaedia, Wikipedia. The appeal is to populate an entry about one of their industry award with information, so as to prevent the entry’s removal on the grounds, say Wikipedia, of “No assertion of notability for this award”.
It concerns the Chip Shop Awards - competed for by designers and advertisers and notable because of their lack of rules and so therefore open to pretty much anyone.
The Chip Shop Awards describe themselves to be “about fostering and recognising creativity, with no boundaries and no rules. [They are] international creative awards, open to anyone with great ideas.”
