PM's Scottish Spin Doctor Quits
11/09/2008
A former political editor of the Daily Record has quit as Scottish 'spin doctor' for the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, to become head of a PR and public affairs agency.
Paul Sinclair is to head the UK arm of Hill & Knowlton, after joining Downing Street in June, following a spell as special adviser to international development secretary, Douglas Alexander.
Although he is taking up his new post in November, he is not expected to feature much in the run-up to the forthcoming by-election, in Glenrothes, Fife.
Reports the Record’s Magnus Gardham: “His departure follows reports of tensions within the Downing Street communications team - reports which aren't wide of the mark.”
It is believed a six-figure salary lies in wait for Sinclair.
