Aberdeen Station Subject of Management Buyout

18/09/2008
Less than a year after its launch, the Aberdeen-based commercial radio station, Original 106fm, has been bought for an undisclosed sum in a management buyout.

It has been bought from Canwest Mediaworks UK Ltd by Jonathan Arendt and Richard Johnson, with managing director, Iain McKenna, also involved. The station will continue to operate under the brand name, Original 106fm.

McKenna said: "This is a fantastic opportunity, both for me personally, and the radio station. We look forward to continuing  to build the business over the coming years. I believe we present a real choice for listeners and advertisers in the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire  areas."
