PR Agency Recognised for Charity Work

29/09/2008
An Aberdeen public relations company has lifted a top award in the city’s prestigious Northern Star Business Awards, organised by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce.

Mackenzie PR won the Socially Responsible Company of the Year category, for its work with local charity CLAN (Cancer Link Aberdeen & North), providing free advice on media matters, while also generating press and TV coverage for the charity on an on-going basis.

Mackenzie PR has also held a number of fundraising events in aid of CLAN, including a media pub quiz to which journalists from across the north-east attended and a charity ball, which raised around £16,000.

Says Mackenzie PR director, Morven Mackenzie: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this award. Supporting charitable causes has been at the heart of Mackenzie PR since its inception and the team works exceptionally hard to ensure we give back to the community in which we operate.

“To have this recognised by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce and be a winning part of the whole Northern Star Awards is fantastic.”
