It’s not only performed in the north-east of Scotland dialect of Doric, it boasts a record-shattering 536 expletives. And a feature-length film about a couple of bumbling removal men is soon to receive its world premiere in London.

‘One Day Removals’, written and directed by Aberdeen-based Mark Stirton, stars local comic, Patrick Wight, and Scott Ironside who accidentally find themselves responsible for a van full of dead bodies during the course of ‘one very bad day’.

The comedy has been selected for screening at the Raindance Film Festival in London, which is dedicated to fostering independent filmmaking and is in its 16th year.

On its jury this year are veteran movie director, Nicolas Roeg, and Oscar-winning Scottish actor/director, Peter Capaldi.

‘One Day Removals,’ is a co-production between Stirton Productions (here) and The Canny Film Partnership Limited.

Producer of the movie and director of The Canny Film Partnership, Ken Fraser, financed the production after hearing of the success of Stirton’s previous film, ‘The Planet,’ which received international distribution earlier this year.

The movie receives its world premiere at 12noon on the 11th of this month, at the Cineworld Cinema, Shaftesbury Avenue, London.
