Not a Pretty Cite?

24/10/2008
There but for the grace of God. Not every media release can be 100 per cent accurate, but newsdesks on Wednesday will have been slightly bemused by one issued by the SNP  that contained the word, ‘sights’, for ‘cites’, and the words, ‘is places’, for ‘are places’.

Not only that, the release, headed, ‘Glasgow MSP Sets the Bar for 2014 Games’, sticks in an unnecessary possession apostrophe in the middle of ‘its’.

But at least it’s a simple headline, unlike this ‘alphabet soup’ of one spotted recently by a regular AMS reader: ‘E-BCM Warns of Danger to SMBS after BCC and FSB Find Evidence of Rising Pressure’.
