One of Scotland's best-known political journalists has joined the ranks of the Scottish Tories, as their strategy and communications director.

Michael Crow has left stv - where he presented the channel's Politics Now programme - to take up the post.

Said Scots Tory chair, Andrew Fulton: "As a journalist for 15 years, Michael brings with him a huge amount of media and political experience."

Presenting Politics Now will be stv's political editor, Bernard Ponsonby.
