Wanted: Ad Spotter
09/03/2007
Arguably, the most amusing conversation of the week took place between a news desk hack on the Edinburgh Evening News and a radio journalist at local, speech radio station, talk107.
The Evening News hack rang to ask where the station had got a story about Hearts owner, Vladimir Romanov, recruiting employees for his new bank branch, of Ukio Bankas, in the nation’s capital.
Apparently, it went something like this:
EEN hack: “Where did you get that story?”
107: “We saw an advert looking for people.”
EEN hack: “Oh. Where was the advert?”
107: “Er, in the Evening News yesterday.”
