Lazarescu licks the opposition in World Cinema Award

A FILM about an ill man shunted from hospital to hospital has been chosen as this year’s World Cinema Award winner, organised by BBC Four.

Romanian film, ‘The Death of Mr Lazarescu’ – by Cristi Puiu, beat off the challenge of Michael Haneke’s Hidden and Pedro Almodovar’s Volver, plus others, to pick up the prize.
