Scottish Screen hoping for Hong Kong phew-ee

SCOTLAND is being promoted as a place to make movies and TV programmes at what is considered the main trade show for TV and film makers in the Far East.

Believed to be for the first time, screen agency, Scottish Screen, is making an appearance at the Hong Kong International Film and Television Market, which began yesterday.

One of the agency’s main aims will be promoting the Scottish locations.

Says Scottish Screen: “Scotland is the UK’s largest film and television production centre outside south-east England. In an average year, six to eight feature films, four major television dramas and hundreds of shorts, documentaries and commercials are shot here. Scottish presence in Hong Kong will enhance Scotland’s profile, internationally, as a desirable place to make great film and television programmes.”
