Batchelor among voluntary leavers from BBC

SOME of the best-known names at BBC Scotland are soon to be leaving, following a round of voluntary redundancies.

Says a memo issued to staff by Atholl Duncan, head of news and current affairs, among the departees are environment correspondent, Louise Batchelor, whose going-away party takes place in two-and-a-half weeks’ time, following long service leave these last few weeks.

Also going are political correspondent, Kit Fraser, and John Knox, a reporter at the Scottish Parliament. They are to be joined by radio programme producer, Heather Fraser; plus video tape editor, Stuart Pauley; Aberdeen-based broadcast journalist, Jim Murray; and radio reporter and presenter, Ruth Davidson.

Andrew Cassell, long-serving network correspondent who has recently been working on Newsnight Scotland, has also secured voluntary redundancy.
