STV hails ‘landmark series’

IT may only constitute a fraction of BBC Four’s current output devoted to Scotland, but STV is hailing a new, three-part documentary as a “key landmark series for the year of the Homecoming”.

Scotland Revealed – starting on Thursday, at 9pm – comprises High Definition footage of Scotland from the air. Its presenter is geographer and broadcaster, Vanessa Colllingridge.

The series has been produced by Julie Grant, who is quoted in a STV statement, saying: “Filming in High Definition has allowed us to produce a technically brilliant piece of work, showcasing our country in a way it has never been seen before.

“Scotland Revealed is a real feast for the eyes, with incredible detail and vibrant colour, which will hopefully make people even more aware of how beautiful our country is.”

Adds Alan Clements, director of content at STV: “Scotland Revealed is one of our key landmark series for the year of the Homecoming and we’ve invested significantly in what is a truly stunning three-part series. Supporting original production is incredibly important to STV and Scotland Revealed is an excellent example of the first-rate programming we can produce and the talent we have working in Scotland’s creative industry.”

Scotland Revealed is directed Dani Carlaw. The executive producer is Elizabeth Partyka, deputy drector of content and head of daytime at STV.
