Devlish work wins top prize

AN Edinburgh animation company has scooped a top film award – for an animation made specifically for a mobile phone.

At the Talent Circle Super Shorts Film Festival – in London – Red Kite Animation picked up the award for best mobile short.

Featuring the voices of Stephen Mangan and Julian Rhind-Tutt – stars of Channel 4’s Green Wing – The Imp is a series of 65 x one-minute animations about an imp who tries very hard to spread evil while having to juggle with the mundane demands of domestic life.

It is currently being broadcast by the Disney Channel in Japan and Cartoon Network in the US, with Red Kite in discussion with broadcasters and mobile content providers to broadcast it in the UK.

The Talent Circle Super Shorts Film Festival is now in its third year. The Imp was created by Andy Fielding, produced by Sueann Smith and directed by Andy Janes and Wayne Thomas. It was executive produced by Ken Anderson for Red Kite Animation.
