Documentary maker on the trail of suspects

AN award-winning Scottish journalist will have his documentary on the murder of the black teenager, Stephen Lawrence, screened by the BBC next week.

Mark Daly’s film, The Boys Who Killed Stephen Lawrence, promises to offer the ‘definitve account’ of the crime and will feature new evidence and never-before-seen footage.

Daly, who has worked for a number of Scottish newspapers – including The Scotsman and the Daily Record – won a BAFTA in 2004 for his undercover Panorama film, The Secret Policeman, which uncovered racism among police recruits in Manchester.

His latest production will be broadcast on Wednesday, on BBC ONE at 10.40pm.
