BBC Scotland Announces Scheme Transmission Dates

The transmission dates for a documentary series following families on a large housing scheme in Kilmarnock have been announced.

As reported earlier this week on allmediascotland, the final two episodes of BBC Scotland’s The Scheme have been cleared for broadcast following the conclusion of legal action against a person due to feature in the show.

Now, the Corporation has announced episode three of the fly-on-the-wall documentary will be aired in 11 days’ time, Tuesday, the 27th, with the fourth and final installment set to follow on the third of next month.

The BBC is also intending to repeat broadcast the first two episodes – which together attracted over one million viewers; on the 24th and 25th of this month, respectively.

On Tueday, allmediascotland also revealed that the BBC had secured an interim interdict against the dissemination of pirate copies of the untransmitted episodes of The Scheme.

Said a statement released by the principal solicitor for BBC Scotland, Rosalind McInnes: “BBC Scotland has reason to believe copies of episodes three and four, which have yet to be transmitted, are in circulation. BBC Scotland is looking into how copies of untransmitted material have been unofficially released and in the meantime this step [interim interdict] has been taken to ensure the programmes are not transmitted illegally.”
