24-hour Broadcasting Challenge Aiming to Raise Funds for Charity

A DJ on a Scots community radio station is to broadcast for 24 hours, non-stop, in aid of charity.

Volunteer presenter, Stewart Laird, will be broadcasting on Bute FM, to help raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Throughout the challenge, 'Big Stoo' will be accompanied by our other volunteers who will either be joining him behind the microphone or taking the many requests and dedications that the station is expecting.

The broadcasts starts at 10pm on the fourth of next month.

The day before, the station is hosting 'Love is in the Air', inviting listeners to make a music request for a loved one, in return for making a donation to the Trust.

Bute FM began broadcasting at midday on July 15 two years ago. It describes itself as “a community radio station serving its local community with a mixture of music, chat and important local information such as travel, weather and community events”.
