Scots radio chief hailed by hypnotist, McKenna

SCOTS radio chief, Richard Park, has been credited for providing the hugely successful hypnotist and author of several self-improvement books, Paul McKenna, his big career break.

McKenna – featured in today’s Daily Record – talks of when he was working for Capital Radio, with Park as his boss. Park is reported to have provided McKenna with the use of a theatre, plus publicity, to stage a hypnotism show in London.

Writer, John Dingwall, quotes McKenna, as saying: “In broadcast terms, [Park] is the equivalent of what Brian Clough did for football. He is the greatest programmer of all time. Who else comes close to his track record in broadcasting?”

Park, a former DJ and football commentator on Radio Clyde, is now group executive director and director of broadcasting at Global Radio.
