TV prize for Scots weather presenter

THE Scots weather presenter, Carol Kirkwood, has been named Best Weather Presenter at one of the UK’s longest-running TV and radio awards ceremonies.

The Television and Radio Industries Club was formed in 1931, with the aim, says the Club, “to promote mutual understanding and goodwill amongst those engaged in the audio, visual, communication and allied industries”.

And the first Television and Radio Industries Club awards were held in 1969, with the latest ceremony held last night.

A picture of Kirkwood adorns the front page of today’s The Scotsman newspaper.
