Broadcasting BBC Scotland bus to follow Olympic Torch

A MOBILE radio studio, installed in a bus, is being run by BBC Scotland, to follow the Olympic Torch relay as it is being carried through Scotland.

BBC Radio Scotland will be broadcasting, among other things, the music show, Get it On with Bryan Burnett, being renamed, Pass it On, for the three evenings it is scheduled to be shadowing the relay. The dates are Aberdeen (June 11), Dundee (June 12) and Edinburgh (June 13).

Says BBC Scotland: “There will be also special reports from George Square, Glasgow, in the Reporting Scotland bulletins on BBC One Scotland on Friday June 8 when the cauldron is lit, and updates on the torch journey and the stories behind those carrying it on BBC Radio Scotland during its travels across Scotland.

“And on Wednesday, June 13 at 6.30pm, Reporting Scotland will be live from Edinburgh followed by a half-hour special Olympic Torch programme on BBC One Scotland.”

The statement adds: “BBC Scotland news correspondents will bring all the latest stories from the people involved in taking the Olympic Torch into the cities throughout the journey on television, radio and online.”

Earlier this week, it was announced that STV presenter, John MacKay, is to be one of the torchbearers.
