Sonys shortlist reveals at least six Scots entries

AT least six Scots entries have made it to the shortlist of the UK’s most prestgious radio awards competition.

And Bauer Media Scotland is behind four of the nominees in this year’s Sony Radio Academy Awards, with entries in the Best Music Programme category (In: Demand Scotland), Best Entertainment Programme (Boogie and Dingo’s Big Saturday Show), Best Internet Programme (Front Room Fringe – Forth One) and Station of the Year (under 300,000)(Moray Firth Radio).

Up against Moray Firth Radio in the last of these categories is Garrison FM, which has stations throughout the UK, including Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, in the Best Specialist Music Programme, Ricky Ross’s Another Country, on BBC Radio Scotland, gets a nod and Scot, Eddie Mair, is shortlisted in the Best Interview category, for his interview on BBC Radio 4 with Julie Nicholson.

The winners will be announced on May 14.
