BBC Question Time Reportedly Under Fire from SNP MSP

The BBC is reportedly being criticised by a SNP MSP for the make-up of the panel taking part in a Question Time debate being aired tomorrow.

Says The Herald, the panel taking part in the debate from Inverness is to comprise two pro-independence participants (Nicola Sturgeon and Alan Cumming) and three non (Johann Lamont, Lord Forsyth and Melanie Phillips).

The paper quotes Kenneth Gibson as saying: “It is inevitable that independence will be discussed on this week's Question Time, and it would be in the best interests of a fair and measured debate if the BBC invited equal numbers of panellists from both the Yes and No campaigns.

“In future the BBC should ensure a balanced panel, from both sides of the referendum debate, whenever independence is expected to be discussed.”
