Two more community radio stations for Scotland

THE network of community radio stations throughout Scotland is being joined by a further two.

Applications for a community radio licence from Sound of Mull Radio and Camglen Radio have been accepted by the broadcasting regulators, Ofcom.

The not-for-profit operations will be serving, respectively, the Isle of Mull and Iona, and Cambuslang and Rutherglen, in South Lanarkshire.

Licences are awarded for five years.

In addition, an application by Glasgow-based Celtic Music Radio – to switch from broadcasting on the AM frequency to FM – has also been accepted by Ofcom.
