Bhardwaj reportedly calls in the cops over alleged ‘Twitter’ threat

A STV sports journalist has reportedly contacted the police after allegedly receiving a “serious threat” on social media network, Twitter.

Writes Lisa Brown in today’s The Scottish Sun, the alleged threat to Raman Bhardwaj follows a series of tweets about the retirement on Sunday from international football of England defender, John Terry.

He is said to have sparked fury among Rangers fans after asking why Rangers – “and only Rangers fans on my timeline” – are defending Terry, leading some to speculate Bhardwaj’s motives since Terry retired as he faced a Football Association inquiry into claims he racially abused another footballer, Anton Ferdinand.

Bhardwaj is quoted as saying: “I’ve decided to come off Twitter whilst a serious threat I received is investigated by police.”
