Aitken says he has never seen the Beeb as vindictive, but…

THE Scottish Daily Express columnist, Keith Aitken, is perplexed.

As he writes today: “For all its faults, I’ve never seen the Beeb as vindictive. But I start to wonder whether it’s finally taken revenge for this column’s many complaints about its addiction to Glasgow football trivia, glottal stops, and the adjective, ‘iconic’.”

The problem, he says, is this: “A couple of weeks back, the column happened to remark that a) The Thick of It is the best thing on TV and b) the Magical Mystery Tour was a turkey then, and is a footsy turkey now.

“So, last weekend, they dropped The Thick of It, to make way for…you’ve guessed, haven’t you?”
