AN INSIGHT into reporting Scotland for the UK-wide BBC News network is to be provided today by the BBC’s Scotland correspondent, Colin Blane.
The journalist is speaking at ‘Media Mondays’, hosted by Edinburgh Napier University, with the event free to attend for both students and members of the public.
Blane began his career in newspapers, working for both The Sunday Post and Greenock Telegraph before joining the BBC in 1979. He went on to become both East Africa and Europe Correspondent, filing stories from more than 50 countries. Closer to home, he has covered the Miners’ Strike, the Piper Alpha disaster and the Lockerbie bombing.
His talk starts at 1pm in Room B2 at the University’s Merchiston Campus.
Media Mondays was launched in October.
