Training places on how to be an ‘effective freelance’ available for Friday

TRAINING places on how to be an ‘effective freelance’ are available for this Friday, courtesy of the National Union of Journalists.

Says the NUJ, the course is designed to “cover not only the essentials of working as a freelance – organisation, negotiating, producing work, markets, law and financial record-keeping – but also living as a freelance, including personal finance, etc. It will include breaking into new markets, establishing terms, chasing payment, improving returns, specialist journalism, handling money, tax and deductible expenses”.

The course costs £100 for NUJ members and £160 for non-members and to book a place please contact Joan Macdonald on 0141 248 6648 or by email at joanm@nuj.org.uk.
