Radio Clyde promises biggest-ever concert to help celebrate 40th birthday

TO celebrate its upcoming 40th birthday, the radio station, Radio Clyde, is to host what it describes as its biggest-ever live concert.

The date set is in a 100 days’ time – December 13 – and it is to be staged at the new, The SSE Hydro, in Glasgow.

The line-up has yet to be announced. But, says a Clyde 1 statement: “Clyde 1 Live 2013 builds on the success of the same event held at the SECC for the past three years, with acts such as Calvin Harris, JLS, Labrinth, Jesse J and Olly Murs having performed. The first four acts for this year are expected to be announced at the end of September.

“As well as a top line-up of live music acts, this year’s celebrations will incorporate a number of additional features including a t-shirt design competition for local schools and colleges, where entrants will design a commemorative T-shirt for the event. The winning design will be printed and available to buy online at www.clyde1.com, with all sale profits going to Clyde 1’s charity, Cash for Kids. The competition kicks off on September 9 and will run until October 8.”
