Creative industry employers being sought to identify future training needs

ADVICE is being sought from employers on what training and skills are required to help ensure the UK’s creative industry remain as competitive as possible.

The call has been made by the skills and training body, Creative Skillset, which is seeking publishing professionals, including media publishers, to join industry panels, to help shape future strategies.

Says a Creative Skillset media release: “Both employers and professionals across the industry are encouraged to respond, including those working within news media, books and journals, magazines and business media. Panel members will be asked their opinions on matters ranging from skills gaps and training to the future needs of the industries.”

After registering to assist, ‘members’ will receive up to four surveys a year, to ask their opinion on industry investment into skills and training.

Adds the release: “The next survey will take place from 14-20 October 2013, and will focus on the future trends of the industry, including skills needs, technological advancements and investment opportunities. It’s very easy to register and those who do so by 13 October will also be entered into prize draw to win £100 John Lewis vouchers.”
