BAFTA ‘outstanding achievement’ award for Kirsty Wark

THE Scots journalist, Kirsty Wark, has been recognised for her broadcasting work by the British Academy for Film and Television Arts.

At the Scottish BAFTAs last night, the Newsnight presenter received an award for Outstanding Contribution to Broadcasting.

The awards were widely reported in today’s press; for instance pages 6-7 in The Scotsman and page 5 in The Herald.

In a BAFTA media release, Alan de Pellette, acting director BAFTA Scotland, is quoted, as saying: “The quality and range in this year’s British Academy Scotland Awards reflects the sheer breadth of content being created in Scotland across film, television and games. The work celebrated is inspiring to all of us working in the screen industries and it’s great to see so much talent being recognised tonight. Congratulations to all of our very worthy winners.”
