Your Noon Briefing: Colin Hume, Press Ball, etc

THE editor of The Falkirk Herald is having his role extended to oversee what is being described, by his paper’s publishers, Johnston Press, as a “review of the editorial operation of [our] weeklies [newspapers] across the majority of Scotland”.

Colin Hume – who also edits Johnston Press sister title, the Linlithgow Journal & Gazette – will be looking at, among things, how editorial content might be more efficiently shared.

In the meantime, taking the reins of The Falkirk Herald will be deputy editor, Duncan McCallum, while the day-to-day responsibility for the Linlithgow Journal & Gazette will come under the wing of the editor of the Carluke and Lanark Gazette titles, Julie Currie.
