BEGINS The Herald: “Scottish Labour has announced a shake-up of its communications team, claiming the move is part of Jim Murphy’s efforts to build a “strong team” ahead of the General Election.

Former Labour councillor, Susan Dalgety, who was Jack McConnell’s chief press officer during his time as First Minister, has been appointed as communications director.”

Reporter, Victoria Weldon, goes on to report that “the party’s new director of external engagement has been named as digital communications specialist, Gregor Poynton”.

At first glance, its page three looks like a page straight out of The Sun, including the font for the heading, ‘Sun bosses ditch Page 3 stunnas’.

BEGINS the BBC: “The BBC’s News app has been given a major overhaul with the goal of offering a more ‘personalised’ service.

“In addition to pre-existing sections – including Top Stories, UK and Politics – users will be able to add specialised feeds of their choice, for example: Apps, Taylor Swift, Genetics, and Oban.

“The revamp is part of a wider shake-up, which will also involve major changes to the look of the BBC’s news website.”
