SHE might be better known as Rod Stewart’s fiancee, but Penny Lancaster is also a professional photographer, and she has been recruited as a judge at the Scottish Press Photography Awards.
And her involvement has encouraged the competition organisers to introduce a new award category: Best Celebrity Shot.
The awards are being sponsored by First ScotRail and another new development is that the winner of the Young Photographer title will be rewarded with an assignment with a Scottish national newspaper – still to be announced.
Penny was a photography student when she began dating Rod, after taking pictures at one of his shows. She is to be one of the official photographers covering the rocker’s arena tour of the USA, which kicks off next month.
The closing date for entries is January 15 and the awards ceremony will be held in Glasgow in March.
