A newspaper dedicated to the reporting of Hearts football club is seeking to put a candidate up for election at the local council elections in May.
Planet Hearts has taken the bold step in an attempt to unseat a local councillor, Tom Ponton, who has raised questions about a land deal involving the club and Edinburgh City Council.
The fans’ candidate is expected to campaign under the slogan, Show Tom Ponton The Red Card, in the newly-created Inverleith ward in Edinburgh.
