SCJS students dominate competition shortlist

NOMINATIONS from a single Scottish journalism school dominate this year’s shortlist for one of the country’s top student journalism competitions.

More than half of the shortlist for this year’s Write Stuff comprise students at the Scottish Centre for Journalism Studies, run jointly by Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian universities.

The Write Stuff is supported by local and national newspaper titles, the Society of Editors and the National Union of Journalists.

Submitted pieces include those with a legal and political focus. There was also a strong showing in the sports section, and other entrants focussed on social issues.

One nominee, Mark Henderson, is the author of an opinion piece on allmediascotland.com

The award ceremony is to be held at Glasgow City Hall on the 30th.
