Dunfermline Press deal could go to competition commission

THE sale of eight newspaper titles in England to a Scottish newspaper publisher could be referred to the Competition Commission, although only one of the titles is giving cause for concern.

The sale of the Observer and Express series, in Berkshire, has given Dunfermline Press Ltd control over the only two local newspapers in the Slough, Windsor and Eton area. The titles were sold by Daily Record and Sunday Mail publisher, Trinity Mirror.
