Daredevil reporters to take the plunge

FOUR reporters from a local newspaper are to abseil from the Forth Rail Bridge – all for charity.

The quartet, from the Kirkintilloch Herald, will be taking on the 165ft drop a week on Sunday, to raise money for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS).

The reporters are David Hepburn, Alistair Mackay, Caren McPate and Katy Whitelaw and they are now appealing to readers to support them.

Said Katy: “CHSS is a great charity which does fantastic work in the west of Scotland where there is a very high rate of heart problems.

“My gran recently had a triple heart bypass and without the great work of CHSS she may not have been able to survive that.

“Hopefully, local businesses and generous readers of the Herald can help us with this exciting fundraising attempt.”
