Ad spend fears voiced again

THE parent company of the The Herald newspaper publishers, Newsquest, has been quoted, expressing more fears about a downturn in advertising revenue.

According to a report by international news agency, Reuters, Gannett chief executive, Craig Dubow, sees “particular weakness from its Newsquest publishing unit in the UK”, where a deteriorating property market is hitting advertising.

Reuters further quote him saying the decline began in the second week of March and it has been consistently declining from that point.
